New Delhi: Two days after software engineer Vinay Gupta (31) was killed following a dispute about chores at his Nihal Vihar home, police questioned his wife Rekha’s parents as part of the investigation, while his family alleged that six people were involved in the assault but only four have been arrested so far.Police have arrested Vinay’s wife Rekha Gupta, her brothers Raju Jindal and Ved Prakash Jindal, and Raju’s wife Poonam.Vinay’s family said he was the sole breadwinner of the household and supported his parents and family. His sister Kirti said, “This is not the first time his wife had created a ruckus over chores. Over a month ago, he had just asked her to fill water bottles when she had again called her brothers and family members to beat my brother up, but at that time they sided with him, saying it is a basic chore and she can help; but this time, imagine, for something as small as putting ointment, she called them to beat him up.”They alleged that the accused assaulted and strangled him following an argument with his wife.Police are questioning parents and other witnesses and examining CCTV footage.
