Thane: A community dog was rescued from a nearly 40-foot-deep pit after it accidentally fell inside after straying into an under-construction site in the Nitin Company area in the wee hours of Sunday. The municipal rescue teams were alerted by a local resident who heard the wails of the canine around midnight, following which a team rushed to the spot along with an emergency response vehicle.
