SAHARANPUR A 19-year-old Class 12 student was found hanging from a tree in an orchard on Friday evening, hours after the family of a schoolgirl lodged a complaint accusing him of assaulting and molesting her, police said on Saturday.Police said the girl’s family had approached them earlier in the day and alleged that the student had assaulted and misbehaved with the girl.A complaint was also made through Dial 112.Later, the student was found hanging from a tree in an orchard in a village. After being informed, police, family members and villagers reached the spot, while a forensic team collected evidence.The student’s father has named seven people in his complaint, alleging that they had come to his house, asked about his son and left, and later killed him.The family has sought action against all those named in the complaint.Station House Officer Umed Singh said the student had gone to school on Friday and that the girl’s family had filed the complaint against him earlier that day. His body was subsequently recovered from the orchard.Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and are probing all aspects of the case, including the allegations made by both families, the SHO said.(With PTI inputs)
