New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party spokesperson Saurav Das Friday moved Delhi High Court, seeking action against commentator Abhijit Iyer Mitra and several media platforms for allegedly disclosing his residential address online.Das has sought protection of his right to privacy, dignity and security, along with damages for the alleged violation of his privacy rights.The petition seeks permanent and mandatory injunctions against Mitra, X, Google and various media and legal websites from publishing, circulating or disclosing his residential details. Das has also sought directions to remove existing posts, videos and other content containing the information.The plea, which is yet to be heard, further seeks directions to X and Google to take down the content.Das said he has been living in rented accommodation in south Delhi since last year. He alleged that the defendants unlawfully obtained, recorded and repeatedly disseminated his address, along with personal details relating to his background.He contended that repeated disclosures of his address exposed him to a real and foreseeable risk of violence near his residence.
