Dibrugarh: AAI held a three-day Module-1 training programme for technical executives and non-executives from the northeast at Dibrugarh Airport.The Airports Authority of India conducted the regional-level training from Aug 19 to 21 to enhance participants’ professional knowledge and skills through expert-led sessions and practical exposure.Participants received hands-on training in the basic operation, maintenance and safe handling of Aircraft Crash Fire Tenders, including Rosenbauer and NAFFCO equipment. Trainers from the original equipment manufacturers conducted the sessions.The programme also covered basic financial management, e-office and the procurement of goods and services. Led by the regional executive director, North Eastern Region, and the deputy general manager (technical), the sessions focused on financial discipline, digital workflows, paperless functioning and basic procurement procedures.Dibrugarh Airport director Bangajit Saha said the training aimed to strengthen the workforce’s overall competency.“This training programme has given our technical and non-executive staff a valuable opportunity to upgrade their operational skills and administrative knowledge. Sessions such as the handling of Crash Fire Tenders are critical for airport safety, while the modules on financial management and e-Office functioning help our officials adapt to modern administrative practices. Such capacity-building initiatives are essential to ensure our workforce remains efficient and well-prepared,” Saha said.Officials said the programme strengthened participants’ operational and administrative competencies and enabled them to exchange experiences with colleagues from across the region.
