Shillong: Meghalaya govt on Wednesday provided an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of five state residents who died in a hotel fire near the Tarapith temple in West Bengal’s Birbhum district on Monday.In accordance with CM Conrad K Sangma’s announcement, cabinet minister Brening A Sangma handed over the cheques to the families at their residences in Dalu, West Garo Hills.The deceased were identified as Rajendra Nath, 45; Asha Nath, 32; Buran Madak, 45; Shivraj Madak, 10; and Aushnath Madak, 8.All five victims were residents of Dalu in West Garo Hills district.
