Aizawl: Mizoram information and public relations director K Vanlalsangi on Wednesday inaugurated a three-day photography exhibition organised by the Mizo Photographers’ Society (MPS) at Vanapa Hall to mark World Photography Day.Speaking at the inaugural programme, Vanlalsangi described MPS as the largest body of professional photographers, photography enthusiasts and people earning a livelihood through photography in Mizoram. She highlighted MPS’s role in showcasing Mizoram’s natural beauty and the heritage of its forefathers through Mizoram govt calendar.Vanlalsangi also lauded the society for carrying forward the vision of its founding leaders. She said its project, ‘Photographic documentation on Mizo cultural dances’, aimed at preserving traditional Mizo dances and attire, would make a vital contribution to safeguarding and promoting the state’s cultural identity.MPS president H Lalchhanhima presided over the induction of new members.
