Mohali: A scooter rider died after being hit by an allegedly speeding car in Sohana area of Mohali. Shiva, niece of the deceased, Sohana resident Dharminder, said the accident took place on April 21 at around 6:30 am. Dharminder was on his way to Sector 70 to refuel while Shiva and her brother Rohit, followed him on a motorcycle. At the intersection near Singh Shaheedan gurdwara in Sohana, a Swift car coming from the direction of Airport Road, Sector 82, rammed into the scooter. Family members rushed Dharminder to a private hospital in Sector 71, from where he was referred to Govt Medical College and Hospital (GMCH-32) and later shifted to PGI. The complainant alleged that the car was driven in a rash and negligent manner. The car driver is Yuvraj, a resident of Phase 7, Mohali.
