Varanasi: Posted at the anti-human-trafficking police station of Varanasi commissionerate , sub-inspector Nikita Singh was awarded the DGP silver medal on Independence Day for her dedication to duty, outstanding investigative work and significant contribution towards safe rescue of two minor girls missing for a long time. DGP Rajeev Krishna presented her the medal.While discharging her official responsibilities, Singh handled challenging cases related to minor girls with great sensitivity and effective action. Through continuous efforts, she achieved notable success in tracing and rescuing the missing girls.Singh rescued one girl who was missing for three years from Jaunpur district and another who had been missing for nearly a year from Sitapur district. In both cases, the girls were traced on the basis of inputs, technical evidence and sustained efforts and were reunited with their families.
