Kolkata: Bengal BJP will reach out to at least four crore voters across the state over the next seven to ten days, presenting its 41-page “report card” of the first 100 days in govt. Party functionaries described the period as one of “policy changes and administrative action” and said the focus would now shift from announcements to implementation and from decisions to results on the ground.“We had reached out to these people before the assembly polls and sought their support. We are answerable to them,” said BJP spokesperson Debjit Sarkar. Workers and functionaries will cover every neighbourhood and also seek feedback on the govt’s performance.Among the headline achievements cited by central BJP seniors are: the implementation of Ayushman Bharat in Bengal, the transfer of land to the BSF for border fencing — approved in the first cabinet meeting; the raising of the upper age limit for state govt recruitment, effective May 11; and the launch of Annapurna Yojana, under which the govt claims more than one crore women are receiving Rs 3,000 each.The Kanyashree scheme was renamed Kanya Ratna, with additional support for higher education, while the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” campaign was formally launched in the state.On law and order, the govt introduced the Anti-Goonda Bill, launched four dedicated helplines for reporting extortion, illegal toll collection, syndicate crimes and illicit liquor, and proposed large-scale police recruitment with steps to reduce political interference.Engagement with NITI Aayog has been stepped up to attract central investment and address skilled worker migration from the state.State health minister Sharadwat Mukherjee said the department completed 23 initiatives in the first 100 days, including the Ayushman Bharat rollout, HPV vaccination, an integrated control room at Swasthya Bhawan, 210 mobile and floating medical units for the Sundarbans and 2,500 free beds secured in private hospitals for poor patients.“The first 100 days are only the beginning. The larger test will be how these decisions are implemented and whether they lead to visible changes in the daily lives of people,” a BJP functionary said.
