BALAPUR: A 21-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend following a dispute over marriage in Hyderabad’s Balapur area, officials said on Monday.The accused allegedly placed her body in a gunny bag before fleeing the spot.According to news agency ANI, the victim was identified as Rehana, a native of Bihar.Police have registered a case against the accused, identified as 21-year-old Ahmed Salam, who remains absconding.According to the Balapur Police, the incident came to light in the early hours today after they received an emergency call.“Today, in the early morning hours around 5am, we received a ‘Dial 100’ call reporting a dead body in a gunny bag in a bedroom. Our officials reached the spot. The deceased has been identified as Rehana, 21, from Bihar. The accused is Ahmed Salam, also 21,” the police official said.Preliminary investigations revealed that the two were in a relationship, but differences had emerged over their future together.“They were in a relationship, and she was pressuring him to marry her. He allegedly killed her with a knife, put her body in a gunny bag, and absconded. We are searching for him,” the official added.Police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination, while further investigation into the case is underway.(With agency inputs)
