Jaipur: Rajasthan State Election Commission (SEC) has set strict 24 to 72-hour deadlines for district collectors to report compliance with the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) once the urban local body election schedule is announced. Action on defacement of govt property and misuse of govt vehicles, along with monitoring of complaints, will have to be reported within 24 hours.The SEC has prescribed a 48-hour deadline for action against defacement of public property and misuse of public places, while collectors will get 72 hours to report compliance on defacement of private property and development and construction-related activities. Directions have been issued ahead of the 2026 urban local body general elections.Commission said MCC will come into force immediately after election schedule is declared and be effective till poll process is completed. It has asked all district election officers to submit compliance reports in prescribed formats in both hard copy and excel formats.
