Chandigarh: As many as 12 Punjab Police officers will be honoured with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM) and the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) on the occasion of Independence Day 2026.Inspector Baljit Singh has been selected for the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service. The Medal for Meritorious Service will be awarded to Babu Lal Meena, IPS; Dr Boopathi, IPS; Navreet Singh Virk, PPS; Karnail Singh, PPS; Subhash Chand, PPS; Sanjeev Kumar, PPS; Gagandeep Singh, PPS; Jasvir Singh, PPS; Inspector Rashpal Singh; Inspector Nirmal Singh; and Assistant Sub-Inspector Nirmal Singh.Punjab director general of police Gaurav Yadav congratulated the awardees, saying the honours were a proud recognition of their dedication, professionalism and exemplary service. “Their achievement is an inspiration for the entire Punjab Police family to uphold the highest standards of duty and continue serving the people with commitment and distinction,” he said.
