Varanasi: A series of programmes under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was organised in Varanasi and adjoining districts on Friday, on the eve of Independence Day.Varanasi district magistrate Satyendra Kumar flagged off a Tiranga Yatra from the Collectorate under the campaign. The rally, attended by Home Guard personnel, concluded at Central Jail. The participants carrying tricolour, raised slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram.’In Shivpur, young Vedic students of Annapurna Rishikul took out a Tiranga Yatra to spread the message of patriotism and national unity. The procession began at 7am from Annapurna Rishikul. During the march, 500 national flags were distributed to people under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.Varanasi South MLA Dr Neelkanth Tiwari flagged off the yatra after performing aarti of a student dressed as Bharat Mata. The procession passed through Shivpur market and reached Sant Atulanand Chauraha, where students and teachers took a pledge to serve the nation. The yatra later returned to the Shivpur ashram via the Babatpur bypass. The programme concluded with the national anthem.Speaking on the occasion, mahant of Annapurna Temple Shankarpuri said Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was a symbol of national pride and unity. “Religion comes later, the nation comes first. Beyond all differences, this campaign shows that we are all Indians,” he said.Joint director of Education Dinesh Singh, Sanskrit Pathshala inspector Parmanand Singh and Pradeep Srivastava were also present on the occasion. The programme was conducted by principal Ashutosh Mishra, with participation from teachers and members of the Rishikul family.In Rohania, a grand Tiranga Yatra was taken out under the leadership of Rohania police station in charge Raju Singh. Organised on the eve of Independence Day, the rally witnessed participation from police personnel, local residents, youth and children. Participants carried the tricolour, sang patriotic songs and collectively recited the national anthem.The rally passed through the main routes of Rohania and several localities, where residents welcomed the participants by showering flowers. The police administration made adequate security arrangements, and the yatra concluded peacefully.At Mau Junction railway station, a Tiranga Yatra was organised by the Varanasi Division of North Eastern Railway under the direction of divisional railway manager Ashish Jain and the leadership of senior divisional security commissioner Pankaj Chugh.The rally was led by Railway Protection Force inspector-in charge Ajay Kumar Singh and Government Railway Police station officer Santosh Kumar. RPF and GRP personnel carried the national flag and raised patriotic slogans during the march.The yatra passed through station platforms, circulating area, waiting hall and other parts of the station premises. Passengers and local citizens were given the message of respect for the national flag, patriotism and national unity. They were also encouraged to hoist tricolour at their homes and contribute to the success of the campaign.Inspector-in charge Ajay Kumar Singh said the objective of the Tiranga Yatra was to awaken a sense of patriotism among passengers and local citizens, inspire respect and pride for the national flag, and motivate people to hoist the tricolour at their homes.Officers and personnel of the Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police were present on the occasion.
