Jaipur: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA), Thursday, allotted homes to 473 families from denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic communities under the Basic Services to the Urban Poor (BSUP) scheme. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the chief guest at the allotment ceremony, symbolically handed over allotment letters and house keys to beneficiaries at Constitution Club.The homes located in Jaisinghpura Khor, comprise one bedroom, hall and kitchen units along with a community hall and park. The JDA said 50 flats in Kota and 80 plots in Jodhpur are also ready for allotment.Sharma said the state govt was assessing the housing requirements of eligible families in every district and adding them to the list. “So far 838 plots and 106 flats have been allotted to families from nomadic, semi-nomadic, Gadia Lohar and Kalbelia communities in urban areas.”, he said.Under the Chief Minister Nomadic Housing Scheme, 303 families have benefited, The govt has also distributed 22,790 leases to families from these communities, with another 15,412 leases distributed through rural service camps.Sharma urged families to educate their children and called for greater efforts to ensure eligible families benefit from govt schemes.
