Four held with country bombs, narcotics
Chennai: Police have arrested four men who plotted to kill members of a rival gang to avenge a history-sheeter’s death. Country-made bombs and narcotics, including ganja, were seized from them near Sriperumbudur. On Sept 5, 2023, Ebenezer, 32, a history-sheeter, was killed after country-made bombs were hurled at him near Sriperumbudur. The police arrested 17 people, including Anbu, a rowdy from Vengathur, in connection with the murder. With Ebenezer’s death anniversary approaching next month, some of his associates planned retaliatory attacks. Following the tip-off, a special police team from Vellavedu arrested four men — Ramkumar, Sarath, Vignesh and Tamilselvan.
