Chennai: Maduravoyal police arrested a 22-year-old man for stealing sport bikes and recovered one stolen vehicle. The case was registered after Tharun, 23, of Alapakkam complained that his motorcycle had been stolen after he parked it outside his residence on July 22 before leaving the city. He discovered the vehicle missing when he returned on July 25. A police team traced and arrested Karthikeyan, a daily-wage labourer of Kadambathur in Tiruvallur district, on Wednesday. The stolen motorcycle was recovered from his possession. Police found that he had earlier stolen two similar bikes from the Maduravoyal area in Feb and June.Police said he worked as a daily-wage labourer and had four previous criminal cases, including an attempt to murder, theft and robbery, registered in Tiruvallur and Vellore districts. He was produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
