SuratSurat: A 24-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl were found dead in the Sanjaynagar area under Udhna police station limits on Thursday. Both were natives of Dahod district and had been living in nearby villages in Surat.According to police, the two were reportedly in a relationship and wanted to marry. However, the girl’s family was opposed to the relationship, as the man had allegedly been married twice earlier and both his wives had left him.The two were engaged in labour work in Surat and were reportedly in a relationship for some time.Udhna police are investigating the deaths and are examining all possible reasons behind the incident.Udhna police inspector RM Thakor said, “Preliminary investigation suggests that the two died after hanging themselves from a tree. We are awaiting the final forensic report to ascertain the exact cause of death.”Police said the girl’s family had opposed the marriage because of the man’s previous marriages.
