Done: arunHyderabad: Telangana Congress leaders on Saturday cast doubts on the credibility of Kavitha’s newly-launched Telangana Rashtra Sena, arguing that the timing of her move undermines her claim of sincerity. TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud and Bhuvanagiri MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy said the people might have trusted Kavitha had she floated the party after the first term of the BRS govt, but not after enjoying power for nearly a decade. While welcoming her right to launch a new outfit, they insisted that genuine service to Telangana required her to reveal details of corruption and commissions allegedly pocketed by BRS leaders during their 10-year rule. “She was part of that govt and never spoke about corruption while she enjoyed power,” they said. Mahesh Goud dismissed Kavitha’s criticism of chief minister A Revanth Reddy as “meaningless,” pointing to welfare schemes such as zero interest loans for women. He asserted that the Congress would return to power in 2028, citing the party’s strong mandate in recent panchayat and municipal polls. Kiran Kumar questioned Kavitha’s intent, noting her claim of working as a “mother figure” must be weighed against her past role in governance. He alleged that the former BRS regime was driven by personal interests, failing to deliver on promises of ‘water, funds, and jobs.’ He argued that Kavitha’s silence during those years raises doubts about her current motives. Defending the govt, Kiran Kumar highlighted loan waivers, job creation, development projects and Musi river rejuvenation as proof of commitment. He said criticism alone would not yield political dividends and urged Kavitha to engage in constructive politics.
