Willing to give up Marcaim ticket for son: Dhavalikar
Dhavalikar did not dismiss the possibility of contesting the Ponda seat

Panaji: Power minister and MGP Marcaim MLA Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar on Thursday said he is willing to give up his seat to make way for his son Mithil in the 2027 assembly elections but declined to say whether he plans to contest from Ponda. The Ponda seat has been vacant since the death of sitting MLA Ravi Naik.“The MGP executive committee will take these decisions. As the sitting MLA, obviously they will ask me to contest from Marcaim. Mithil is doing good work, and I will ask them to give the ticket to him. I will tell the executive committee my preference, though the decision will be theirs. MGP functions like any other bigger party and has its own parliamentary and executive committees which take decisions,” Dhavalikar said. When asked whether he has any interest in contesting the Ponda seat himself, Dhavalikar did not dismiss the possibility. “That will come later. If he (Mithil) wants to contest from Marcaim, I will give up the seat to him.”
