Lucknow: A man from Gujarat was found hanging inside a hotel room in Gomti Nagar on Monday evening, with the room locked from inside.“The hotel manager alerted police around 8.30pm after the room remained locked since afternoon. When police reached the hotel and looked through a gap in the door, they saw a man hanging from the ceiling fan with a rope,” police said.Police identified the deceased as Amit Sharma, 42, a resident of Palanpur in Gujarat, based on the address on his Aadhaar. His wife, contacted through his mobile phone, told police that she was currently living in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, with their children and other family members. Relatives have been informed and are on their way to Lucknow, police said. Police said that a missing report was lodged on Aug 6 in Raipur district.“The forensic team seized a phone, a laptop, a pen, the green rope allegedly used in the hanging and a black bag containing clothes and other belongings from the room,” police said.
