Hyderabad: Telangana high court has directed the state authorities not to obstruct the farmers’ access to their lands in Bahadurguda near Shamshabad, while continuing an earlier status quo order passed on July 21, 2026.Justice B Vijaysen Reddy issued the interim direction while hearing two connected writ petitions involving farmers and private landowners alleging interference by revenue, police and HYDRAA authorities. The matter has been posted for further hearing on Tuesday. These lands form a portion of the lands being acquired by the state govt for the bullet train project.The petitioners contended that HYDRAA and revenue officials were trespassing into their private patta lands and attempting to dispossess them without issuing any notice or following due process.During the hearing, their counsel argued that the authorities were misinterpreting the July 21 status quo order and using it to block access to the properties.Taking note of the grievance that access to the lands was being obstructed, the court clarified that the earlier status quo order could not be used to prevent the petitioners from entering or exiting their properties.Accordingly, the court directed the authorities not to interfere with the petitioners’ access to the subject lands until further orders and adjourned the matter.
