Hyderabad: The Telangana Teaching Govt Doctors Association (TTGDA) has raised several issues concerning teaching faculty with the Director of Medical Education (DME) Dr N Vani, including pending promotions, Rule 14A, Aarogyasri incentives, allowances, pay scales and transfer policy.The DME assured the association that pending promotions would be completed at the earliest and said efforts would be made to notify and open as many vacancies as possible during the counselling process. On Aarogyasri incentives, she said she had already discussed the matter with the Health minister.She also agreed to discuss the Peripheral Medical College Allowance (PMCA) with the chief minister. Regarding AIIMS pay scales, she said the proposal required some more time, while the file concerning designated professor posts was currently with the govt and was expected to be cleared soon.TTGDA members said the DME identified the super-speciality allowance and in-service quota as priority issues. She also responded positively to demands for a separate transfer policy for teaching faculty and an optional Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) for faculty recruited from 2023 onwards.On the creation of additional DME posts at Osmania Medical College and KMC Warangal, she said the matter had already been taken up with the govt.Association members clarified the issue regarding Rule 14A after the DME initially understood it as referring to a designated professor plus four years. The TTGDA explained that it pertains to a professor plus four years and, therefore, does not require a separate govt order.
