Ahmedabad: The Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) has announced the final seat allotment for degree engineering admissions in govt, grant-in-aid and IITRAM institutions, with all available seats in govt and grant-in-aid colleges filled for the first time since 2014.In the final round, ACPC allotted 967 admissions, including 444 seats that had remained vacant after earlier rounds. Students allotted seats have been asked to confirm their admissions by Aug 10.This year, 48,967 students registered for degree engineering admissions, of whom 46,702 were included in the merit list. In the final round, 13,487 students competed for the remaining 444 seats. After reshuffling and fresh allotments, all 9,385 seats in 16 govt colleges, 1,584 seats in three grant-in-aid institutions and 479 seats under the tuition fee waiver scheme (TFWS) were filled.Officials said no further admission rounds will be conducted. They also clarified that students are not required to submit original documents at institutes to confirm their admissions.The achievement marks a major turnaround in engineering admissions. In recent years, demand was concentrated in computer-related branches, leaving 500 to 700 seats vacant annually in core streams such as mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering. This year, increased interest in these traditional branches resulted in complete occupancy across all disciplines.
