Shimla: Revenue minister Jagat Singh Negi has directed Goodwill Energy Enterprises Company to immediately release pending local area development authority (LADA) funds for its 29 MW hydropower project in Suru village, Koot gram panchayat of Rampur sub-division in Shimla district.During a meeting with company representatives, Negi said on Friday the delay in releasing LADA funds had affected local development and caused hardship to residents. He also raised concerns over the company’s failure to provide employment to 15 project-affected villagers as per the agreement, despite eight years having passed.The minister instructed the company to take urgent measures to address seepage issues in the project tunnel, following recommendations by a high-level expert committee. He also directed repairs of the damaged Kutdu–Suru road to ensure safe travel for locals, especially during the monsoon season.
