Jaipur: The forest department Thursday issued a notice to Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) after a sambar deer was recently spotted near a garbage dump in the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve area.Following the incident, the forest team carried out an immediate clean-up of the site. Officials said the area has now been completely cleaned and the garbage scientifically disposed of.The incident also prompted a meeting between Ranthambore Tiger Reserve officials, ASI and the temple management to discuss measures to prevent a recurrence. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) Manas Singh.Singh said, “It was decided in the meeting to strengthen waste management through regular cleaning, scientific disposal of garbage, installation of additional dustbins and improved sanitation arrangements. It was also decided to create awareness among pilgrims and tourists about maintaining cleanliness.”He added, “The department has also issued a notice to ASI. The garbage at the site has been cleared and properly disposed of.”The forest department said it will coordinate with all concerned agencies to ensure that wild animals do not get access to human-generated waste and that effective waste management is maintained in the area.
