Panaji: The Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) has welcomed Centre’s decision to extend the Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) to Goa’s two airports.“This biometric e-gate system will help cut immigration clearances, provide better passenger convenience and a boost to tourism in Goa. We eagerly await more details on its rollout and implementation, along with the next phase of implementation for foreign nationals, which will benefit all stakeholders for the coming season,” said TTAG spokesperson Aakash Madgavkar.TTAG has appreciated the efforts of tourism minister Rohan Khaunte towards getting the trusted traveller programme for Goa.The fast-track immigration through automated e-gates at the state’s airports will benefit Indian passengers, particularly Goan expats, seafarers, students, and professionals travelling overseas. This will lead to faster immigration clearance for foreigners.Khaunte said that the programme could be extended to foreigners in the next phase.
