Kashi crafts set for global showcase at UP Int’l Trade Show
The state govt’s flagship trade event, proposed to be held from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida, is expected to open new export opportunities for Kashi’s artisans and entrepreneurs

Varanasi: Varanasi’s renowned traditional crafts and GI-tagged products are set to take centre stage at the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2026, with 40 entrepreneurs from the district preparing to showcase their products before global buyers. The state govt’s flagship trade event, proposed to be held from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida, is expected to open new export opportunities for Kashi’s artisans and entrepreneurs while contributing to UP’s goal of becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy.Traditional crafts and heritage products from Kashi, along with modern industrial products, will be showcased before buyers from across the world. The event will provide artisans, entrepreneurs and exporters from Varanasi an opportunity to connect with international markets, while global buyers will get a closer look at the skills of Banaras’ traditional craftsmen and the quality of its contemporary products.Deputy commissioner of the District Industries Promotion and Entrepreneurship Development Centre, Abhishek Priyadarshi, said entrepreneurs associated with One District One Product (ODOP), MSMEs, women-led enterprises, youth entrepreneurs and exporters will participate in the event.A total of 40 entrepreneurs from Varanasi will take part in the trade show. These include 15 ODOP entrepreneurs, five MSME units and 20 exporters. A special stall will be set up for ODOP products. All ODOP products from Varanasi also fall under the GI-tagged category, which will further strengthen their global recognition.Priyadarshi said the grand event will offer a major platform for industry experts, global buyers, policymakers, investors and startups. The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2026 will not only serve as a hub for business deals but will also become a strong medium for the global branding of the state’s local and traditional products.He added that showcasing products associated with a cultural city like Kashi before international buyers will give fresh momentum to the economic development of the entire region. The govt is also providing subsidies to participants, as per prescribed norms, to support expenses incurred in taking part in the trade fair.
