Kolkata: From this weekend, Alliance Air is set to introduce two new flights from Kolkata, connecting three cities in Madhya Pradesh: Jabalpur, Rewa and Indore. The sectors will be serviced with its ATR-72 aircraft.The state owned airline currently operates flights to six destinations. The two new sectors — Kolkata-Jabalput-Kolkata and Kolkata-Rewa-Indore-Rewa-Kolkata — are the airline’s first new foray from Kolkata since the BJP govt assumed office two months ago.“With these flights to three cities in MP, Alliance Air will further strengthen regional air connectivity from its Kolkata hub,” an airline official said.At present, Alliance Air offers direct connectivity from Kolkata to Guwahati, Lilabari, Imphal, Rupsi, Bilaspur, and Ambikapur. Among these, Rupsi, Lilabari, Bilaspur, and Ambikapur are exclusive Alliance Air routes.While the Kolkata-Jabalpur flight will be launched on Aug 8 and operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, the Kolkata-Rewa-Bhopal flight will be launched the next day and operate on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday.“These new services significantly enhance Alliance Air’s regional network from Kolkata, providing seamless connectivity between West Bengal, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh, while supporting tourism, trade, economic growth, and easier access to emerging destinations,” the airline official added.
