Ahmedabad: The civic body has decided to allow citizens to rent the two banquet/conference halls at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Bodakdev for prayer meetings and besna (condolence gatherings). The facility, previously reserved primarily for cultural and public functions, has been opened up to cater to local demand.Both Banquet/Conference Hall-1 and Hall-2 will now be available under specified terms across two daily shifts: 8am to 2pm and 3pm to 10pm.Hall-1, which spans 981 sq m and seats nearly 382 people, carries a shift rental of Rs 20,000 for the morning slot and Rs 25,000 for the evening slot, along with a security deposit of Rs 50,000.The smaller Hall-2, spread over 354 sq m with a 190-person capacity, is priced at Rs 10,000 for the morning shift and Rs 12,500 for the evening shift, requiring a Rs 25,000 deposit.Bookings can be made through any AMC city civic centre or through the civic body’s official web portal.
