Provide prompt & lasting solutions to public issues, Seethakka tells officials

Hyderabad: From highlighting alleged irregularities in the Dharani system that led to land encroachments to seeking Indiramma houses and an increase in the age limit for police recruitment, people from across the state submitted petitions to panchayati raj minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka) during the ‘Prajalatho Mukhamukhi’ programme at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday.“Over the last two and a half years, we have been resolving, one by one, the problems left behind by the previous administration. People from all corners of the state are coming forward with their petitions because of the trust they have placed in the people’s govt. We are committed to examining every petition with responsibility and providing solutions as quickly as possible,” the minister said.She added that the main duty of the govt is not just to hear public grievances, but to provide lasting solutions to them.During the programme, the minister spoke to officials of the departments concerned on the phone, directing them to examine the issues within the bounds of the law and take appropriate action. She also instructed officials to resolve pending issues without delay and ensure that people are not forced to make repeated visits to govt offices.Several petitioners also sought withdrawal of police cases they alleged were filed out of political vendetta during the previous govt. Members of tribal communities and residents of forest areas sought protection of their rights. Others who claimed to have suffered injustice under the previous govt also appealed for redressal.
