Leader of the opposition in Himachal Pradesh assembly Jai Ram Thakur
Shimla: Despite several challenges, Himachal Pradesh has achieved several milestones in its development journey, former chief minister and leader of opposition Jairam Thakur said on Tuesday.Referring to the documentary screened on the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly premises to mark the 120th birth anniversary of the state’s first chief minister, Yashwant Singh Parmar, Thakur said the collective efforts of various leaders had contributed to the state’s progress. He also criticised the state govt for highlighting only the contributions of incumbent chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.Urging the ruling Congress to recognise the achievements of all former chief ministers, Thakur said the previous govt had also acknowledged the role of former CMs during programmes marking 75 years of the hill state.Paying tribute to Parmar, Thakur said his vision, policies, and leadership laid the foundation for Himachal’s development and played a crucial role in the state’s formation.
