Lucknow: A 14-year-old Class IX student was allegedly stabbed to death by a group of youths in UP’s Kushinagar district.The incident took place late Sunday in Chakhni Khas village of Tamkuhiraj area. Police have detained four accused — all 19 years -old — for questioning.Police said Adarsh Chauhan left home around 9.30pm on Sunday after being called by three local youths to meet near a petrol pump. The family has alleged that the trio along with some other youths attacked and stabbed Adarsh.Adarsh sustained a deep stab wound in the abdomen and was rushed to a community health centre before being referred to Kushinagar Medical College. He died on the way to the hospital.Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s father, Chandreshwar Chauhan, police registered a murder case against Pradeep Mishra, Rohit Mishra, Sagar, Ritik, Raja and several unidentified persons.The family alleged that the accused had been harassing Adarsh for months, demanding money and snatching items from his school bag. They also claimed the group had earlier tried to extort Rs 10,000 from Adarsh’s elder brother and threatened him when he refused to pay.Tension gripped the village on Monday when Adarsh’s body was brought home after the postmortem. Refusing to perform the last rites, family members and villagers placed the body on the Tamkuhiraj-Tarya Road, disrupting traffic and demanding the arrest of all accused.Protesters submitted a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, seeking a CID or CBI probe, police protection for the family, Rs 1 crore compensation, and govt job for a family member.Additional SP Siddharth Verma said five police teams have been formed to arrest the remaining accused. Local politicians also visited the bereaved family and demanded strict action.
