Chennai: A 23-year-old accountant employed at a travel company in Anna Nagar jumped from fourth floor of the company building while trying to evade assault over a suspected ₹30 lakh financial misappropriation on Sunday. He succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital later in the day.Preliminary investigation revealed that around ₹30 lakh was misappropriated from the company. During questioning over the financial irregularity, a few staff members assaulted Akash, who hailed from Ramanathapuram district. Police suspect that he jumped from the building in an attempt to escape the assault.Anna Nagar police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
