NEW DELHI: Heavy rainfall is likely across several parts of the country on Monday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting heavy rain over parts of northwest, central, east, northeast, west and peninsular India.Very heavy rainfall is also likely at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are also likely in several regions, while strong surface winds are expected over parts of the south.

IMD forecast for Monday

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.Heavy rainfall is also likely over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, coastal Karnataka, Gangetic West Bengal, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Konkan, Goa, central Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, south interior Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Delhi-NCR weather tomorrow

Delhi-NCR is likely to receive heavy rainfall. Haryana and Punjab are also likely to witness heavy rain at isolated places.Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are also likely over parts of the region.

North India forecast

Heavy rainfall is likely over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.The IMD has also forecast thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, while thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely over Uttarakhand.

East and central India forecast

Heavy rainfall is likely over Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal, while very heavy rainfall is possible over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are also likely over parts of Jharkhand, while thunderstorms with lightning are expected over Chhattisgarh and Odisha.

Northeast under rain watch

Heavy rainfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, with very heavy rainfall possible over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

West India forecast

Heavy rainfall is likely over Konkan, Goa and central Maharashtra. The IMD has also forecast thunderstorms over parts of central Maharashtra.

South India forecast

Heavy rainfall is likely over coastal Karnataka and south interior Karnataka.Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are also likely over parts of Andhra Pradesh, Lakshadweep, north interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.Strong surface winds are likely over parts of Andhra Pradesh, north interior Karnataka and Telangana.The IMD has also forecast a thundersquall over north interior Karnataka and south interior Karnataka, with winds reaching 50-60 kmph and gusting up to 70 kmph.
