Dhubri: Police detained two people during a raid at a lodge in Dhubri town on Friday and launched an investigation into suspected trafficking and the alleged use of forged documents.Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Dhubri Sadar police station officer-in charge Pritam Das, along with traffic sub-inspector Prashanta Das, raided Zia’s Lodge on CR Das Road.During the operation, police found a woman who is allegedly known by multiple names, along with Jamal Uddin, a resident of Barbhita under Fakirganj police station, inside room No 201 of the lodge.Police found a woman, allegedly known by multiple aliases, and Jamal Uddin, a resident of Barbhita under Fakirganj police station, in room No 201 of the lodge. The two were detained for questioning over suspected trafficking and other illegal activities, police sources said.During the search, three driving licences were recovered from Jamal Uddin. As the licences bear different validity periods, police suspect them to be forged.Further investigation is under way.
