Udaipur: A couple and their eight-year-old son were killed, while their elder son sustained critical injuries after a speeding car rammed into their scooter on the Gogunda-Pindwara highway in Udaipur district Thursday.The accident occurred near Akiyavad village in the Bekariya police station area at night. Police said the car driver and other occupants fled the scene after abandoning the vehicle.The deceased were identified as Navneet Meena (36), his wife Sangita (33), and their son Tushar (8), all residents of Rajsamand district. Their elder son, Nikhil (14), is undergoing treatment in critical condition.Gogunda police station ASI Yogendra Singh said the family was travelling from Chakki in Rajsamand towards Pindwara when the speeding car hit their scooter.The impact shattered the scooter. All four victims were rushed to Gogunda Hospital, where Tushar was declared dead. The remaining three were referred to MB Hospital in Udaipur due to the severity of their injuries.Navneet and Sangita succumbed to their injuries during treatment Friday morning, while Nikhil is in a critical condition.Police have seized both the scooter and the abandoned car and launched a search for the absconding driver. An investigation is underway.
