tnnVaranasi: Two motorcyclists died on the spot after their bikes collided head-on near an intermediate college in Dhanhua locality under the Jahanaganj police station area of Azamgarh district on Tuesday.The accident caused panic in the area as passersby and villagers rushed to the spot after hearing the loud crash. Police from Jahanaganj police station reached the scene soon after receiving information and began the necessary proceedings.According to reports, Shiv Shankar Dwivedi, a resident of Bishunpur in Chiraikote of Mau district, was riding a motorcycle toward Azamgarh for some work. From the opposite direction, Vijay Kumar, a resident of Purana RTO Office, Bhaduli, under Sidhari police station in Azamgarh, was riding another motorcycle toward his destination. Both motorcycles collided head-on near the college. The impact was severe due to high speed, leaving both bikes badly damaged and both riders critically injured on the road.Eyewitnesses said the collision was so loud that people from nearby areas immediately rushed to the scene. Locals informed the police and ambulance service, but both riders had died before help could arrive.Jahanaganj SHO Atul Kumar Mishra reached the spot with a police team. The bodies were then sent for post-mortem examination.
