Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s April 28 Varanasi rally will be all-women-managed, with security at the venue also handled exclusively by women police personnel.Amid renewed political focus on the stalled women’s reservation legislation in Parliament, Modi is expected to visit his parliamentary constituency to address a grand public meeting to expose opposition parties for blocking the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. The BJP’s women’s wing, Bharatiya Janata Mahila Morcha, is holding mandal-level meetings to mobilise over 50,000 women for Modi’s public meeting in Kashi. Several meetings have been held to hammer out a strategy to expose opposition parties for blocking the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam in Parliament and making people aware of their “anti-women face”.Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal said women police personnel will take full charge of security at the event venue and perform duties with efficiency, alertness and discipline. He ordered a multi-layered security cordon, screening of every individual as per protocol, and adequate deployment for round-the-clock watch on suspicious activity.Aggarwal, along with district magistrate Satyendra Kumar, inspected the venue, parking arrangements, VVIP route, and related arrangements on Thursday. During the inspection, all aspects related to security, traffic, and public convenience were reviewed, and the entry gates, exit gates, stage area, seating arrangements, VVIP movement zone, and sensitive locations were examined.
