Kolkata: Trinamool Beleghata MLA Kunal Ghosh moved the Calcutta High Court on Wednesday, demanding directives to be issued to assembly speaker Rathindra Bose to allow him time to speak inside the House. Ghosh claimed that he had been allowed to speak only once during consecutive sessions at the assembly since the new govt was formed.Ghosh’s lawyer Ayan Bhattacharya said, “The speaker has not allowed him to speak… He was allotted time only once when one of the members, who was supposed to speak, was absent. The opposition chief whip is silent about it. It is the fundamental right of an MLA to take part in debates or proceedings at the assembly. The speaker should not be restricted to the list being presented by the LoP.”
