Chandigarh: A 19-year-old Class XII student was injured after allegedly jumping from the roof of a three-storey building following an argument with her mother in Ram Darbar Phase II Tuesday afternoon. She is undergoing treatment at GMCH-32 and is reported to be out of danger.Police said they received information around 3.25pm that a girl had jumped from the rooftop of a building in the locality. SHO Hari Om Sharma and other Sector 31 police personnel rushed to the spot.The student, identified as Neha, is a resident of Ram Darbar Phase II and studies at a govt school in the area. Preliminary inquiry revealed that she had a disagreement with her mother over an undisclosed issue shortly before the incident. She then allegedly went to the roof and jumped.Police said she first landed on a shed above the second floor before falling to the ground. The shed is believed to have reduced the impact of the fall, though she sustained multiple injuries.She was rushed to GMCH-32, where her condition is stated to be stable. Sector 31 police have initiated an inquiry and are recording statements to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident.
