LUCKNOW: Police have arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly repeatedly raping a teenage girl by blackmailing her with an intimate video.The accused has been identified as Abhishek Singh alias Golu, 28, news agency PTI reported.He was arrested from the Mahakaal temple in Ujjain on Saturday, police said.According to police, a complaint was lodged at the Sarojini Nagar police station on July 24 alleging that the accused had abducted the complainant’s minor daughter, around 16 years old, after luring her into a relationship by falsely claiming he was unmarried.Police alleged that the accused recorded an intimate video of the girl and repeatedly raped her by threatening to circulate the clip on social media.

He also allegedly extorted jewellery from her.Based on the complaint, police registered a case under Sections 64(2) (repeated sexual assault), 137(2) (kidnapping) and 308(2) (extortion) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.The accused was subsequently arrested and produced before a court on Sunday, which remanded him to judicial custody, police said.(With agency inputs)
