Ponda: The Portuguese era culvert near the Ponda bus stand is being reconstructed by PWD at a cost of Rs 70 lakh. The PWD is all set to complete the work before the onset of monsoon.The WRD has already reconstructed the nullah and the reconstruction of the culvert was pending.Devendra Velingkar, executive engineer of PWD’s road division, said the culvert work is expected to be completed by May 31.Once the culvert is completed, flooding in the area during monsoon will be stopped, he added.
