Hyderabad: After several days of dry weather under the influence of El Nino, Telangana is likely to witness the return of rains from Sunday, bringing relief to farmers worried about the prolonged dry spell. According to weather forecaster Telangana Weatherman, the ongoing “break monsoon” phase is expected to end on Saturday, with rainfall activity picking up across the state from July 26. Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in parts of north, central, east and west Telangana, while a few places in the northern districts could receive heavy rain. Before the monsoon revives, isolated light to moderate rain is likely in Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Sangareddy, Medak and Siddipet districts. Hyderabad and most other parts of the state are expected to remain largely dry, with only a chance of light, scattered showers. The expected revival comes after a prolonged dry spell that slowed kharif operations and raised concerns about crop stress in several districts.
