Chandigarh: Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring on Wednesday demanded the resignation of chief minister Bhagwant Mann and education minister Harjot Singh Bains over “repeated paper leaks” in the state.Warring said that just as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan were responsible for paper leaks at the national level, Mann and Bains were accountable for paper leaks in Punjab, and they must resign. He also recalled that senior AAP functionary Manish Sisodia had once claimed that if a paper leak happens in Punjab, the responsible minister would be forced to resign. “It has been six months since the Punjab Group-B paper leak. Before that, the Class 12 English and Pharmacist Recruitment Exam papers were also leaked,” he pointed out.Four major paper leak scandals have occurred under the Bhagwant Mann govt, and yet there has been no investigation and no accountability, leave aside any action, said Warring.“Tell us, when will Bhagwant Mann resign?” he asked, adding, Punjab’s youth deserve accountability, not excuses. He said that students were protesting in Delhi, and similarly, when the pharmacy paper was leaked in Punjab, people protested there too, only to be beaten, assaulted and chased away by the police.Bhagwant Mann owes an answer on how the pharmacy paper was leaked and what action was taken, Warring observed while saying both the central and the state govts have failed to handle the problem of paper leaks and do justice to the affected students.MSID:: 132557380 413 |
