Noida: A mother-son duo died after a truck allegedly rammed into their cycle in Sector 68. The woman’s husband, Mubarak Ansari, also sustained critical injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Delhi.According to cops, the family hails from Bihar. Ansari works at a private company in the city and lives alone in a rented house in Garhi Chaukhandi village. His wife, Sahiema Khatun, and their 2-year-old child, Noman Ansari, recently came to the city to visit him.On the day of the accident, the trio were returning home after visiting a nearby market. Sahiema was seated on the bicycle, holding their son, while Ansari was standing nearby, when a truck allegedly hit them from behind. The impact threw the mother and child onto the road, leaving them critically injured and also hit Ansari. The truck driver, Monu, fled the scene immediately.Locals rushed the victims to a nearby hospital in Sector 71, where doctors declared Sahiema and Noman dead on arrival, while Mubarak’s condition remains critical.Based on a complaint from Ansari’s brother, Mustaq, an FIR was filed under sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 125(b) (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the BNS at the Phase 3 police station, following which teh driver was arrested and the vehicle was seized.CCTV footage from the area is being examined to reconstruct the sequence of events.In a separate incident, a man riding a bicycle died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near Shani Temple in Sector 22 on the morning of April 16.Ramji Shukla, a resident of Vasundhara Enclave in Delhi, was employed at a private firm in Sector 58 and commuted daily by bicycle.Cops said he was returning home from work when an unidentified vehicle struck him from behind. Shukla was initially taken to a district hospital before being referred to a Delhi-based hospital for advanced treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.Based on his son Abhishek Shukla’s complaint, a complaint was filed against the unknown driver. Further investigation is underway.
