Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy, along with several ministers and Telangana Congress leaders, on Tuesday condemned the detention of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and other Congress leaders in Delhi, terming it an attack on democratic rights. The Telangana Congress has given a call for a ‘Chalo Lok Bhavan‘ protest on Wednesday and plans to submit a memorandum to the governor.Ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, Damodar Raja Narasimha, Vakiti Srihari, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, senior leader T Jagga Reddy and others joined the criticism of the Centre over the detentions.In a post on X, Revanth said: “This is an assault on the democratic right to protest. You can throw us in jail, you can try to suppress us but you cannot suppress the anger of millions of young Indians fighting for justice and accountability.”Earlier, before the detention of the Congress leaders, Revanth expressed solidarity with Rahul, who was participating in a dharna outside PM Modi’s Lok Kalyan Marg residence in Delhi.He said AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka were extending support to youth protesting across the country. “We are with you, youth of India. Congress ka haath, yuva ke saath,” Revanth stated.Rahul, Priyanka and senior Congress leaders staged a dharna outside the PM’s residence, demanding his resignation over police action against students protesting the NEET paper leak issue.
