Dhami reviews preparations for Miri Piri Khalsa march

Amritsar: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Harjinder Singh Dhami on Monday held a meeting to review the arrangements for the Miri Piri Khalsa March.The march is being organised under the patronage of the Akal Takht to commemorate Miri Piri Diwas of the Sixth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib.During the meeting, Dhami reviewed the preparations and issued necessary directions to ensure smooth arrangements for the march.Dhami said during the recent Panthic gathering held at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall, the officiating jathedar of the Akal Takht had announced the launch of the Miri Piri Khalsa March.He said the march’s objective is to promote Sikh principles and increase community awareness regarding the significance of Sikh institutions.Providing details of the programme, Dhami said the march would begin at 9 am on July 24 from the Akal Takht after an ardas. It will pass through several villages, with the first overnight halt at Gurdwara Bir Baba Budha Ji, Thatta, Tarn Taran.
