Panchkula: Haryana development and panchayat minister Krishan Lal Panwar Monday ordered the suspension of a police inspector and an assistant sub-inspector for alleged lapses in the investigation of a dowry harassment case, while directing the department to conduct an impartial inquiry and submit a report at the next meeting.Panwar, who was chairing a meeting of the district public relations and grievance redressal committee at the PWD rest house in Sector 1, said the victim must receive justice at all costs.The action came after a woman from Sector 15 alleged that her in-laws had demanded dowry and subjected her to mental harassment. She also accused the police of failing to take appropriate action and omitting crucial details, including a Rs 6 lakh transaction and dowry-related allegations, from the FIR. After hearing the complaint, the minister directed the suspension of inspector Rajesh Kumari and ASI Kavita.In another case, a complainant from Raila village and Sector 12 alleged that the opposing party had encroached on land belonging to the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) and the municipal corporation, fraudulently obtained property registration documents and blocked the access road leading to his property. Panwar directed the deputy commissioner and deputy commissioner of police to hear both sides and take action in accordance with the rules.A resident of Sector 19 raised concerns over the slow pace of relocation of dairies from urban areas, alleging that dairy operators were dumping cattle dung in open spaces, HSVP plots and parks, causing unhygienic conditions. The minister directed the municipal corporation to expedite the relocation process and ensure regular cleaning of parks and vacant plots. He also asked HSVP officials to remove encroachments from its land on priority.Panwar also took up a complaint from Bagwali village, where a resident alleged that land belonging to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had been encroached upon and a gate installed, blocking access to his plot. The minister ordered a joint demarcation of the land within a week.Several other complaints were also taken up and disposed of during the meeting.
