Hyderabad: What was meant to be another skydive celebrating a new passion ended in tragedy for a 28-year-old Hyderabad engineer in the US.Mani Chandra Teja Gaddam, a software developer based in Boston, died in a skydiving accident in Orange, Massachusetts, on Sunday allegedly after a sudden gust of wind interfered with his parachute during landing, causing him to fall about 30 feet to the ground. He was reportedly rushed to Athol Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The accident is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police, Orange Police Department and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).Teja, who reportedly hailed from Vijayawada before moving to Hyderabad for his education, had been working as a software developer in Boston for the last two years.To repatriate his body back to India, his family members have started a fundraiser on GoFundMe platform to cover funeral and related expenses.The fundraiser says he had recently earned his US Parachute Association A Licence, allowing him to skydive independently, and had been looking forward to exploring the sport further.
